Vadayar Major Ilamkavu Devi Temple

Situated adjacent to the Muvattupuzha River, this temple is famous for the renowned Attuvela festival. The main deity here is Bhadrakali in a fierce form. This Goddess is conceptualized as the sister of the Kodungallur Bhagavathi.
Main Festival (Meenam Month): The main attraction here is the famous Attuvela Mahotsavam celebrated on the Ashwathi asterism in the Malayalam month of Meenam. It is a water festival where people float beautifully decorated small crafts (Attuvela) through the Vadayar River near the temple to worship the deity. According to legend, the Attuvela is the grand reception held when Kodungallur Bhagavathi arrives to visit her sister, the Ilamkavu Devi.

Pundarikapuram Temple (Mittayikunnam)

Pundarikapuram Temple is well known for its centuries-old wall murals. The main deity is Lord Mahavishnu. Protected by the Department of Archaeology, the four walls of the temple's sanctum sanctorum feature depictions of mythological stories divided into thirteen segments. The temple is located on the banks of the Muvattupuzha River at Mittayikunnam in Thalayolaparambu, Kottayam district, Kerala. The ownership of the temple rests with the Velimamkovil Illam.

Thirupuram Sree Krishna Swamy Temple is a famous Hindu place of worship located in Thalayolaparambu, Kottayam district. Boasting a serene atmosphere, this temple is situated close to the town. The 'Pagal Pooram' held at the temple is immensely popular, drawing huge crowds similar to the Thrissur Pooram. The festival is celebrated on a grand scale, parading more than 15 majestic elephants accompanied by Panchari/Pandi Melam and colorful Kudamattom (changing of parasols).
